For your dog's well-being you should brush it regularly. However, do not discard it's undercoat! Keep it and after a few months, you will be to able to knit a hat, scarf or jacket. A dog's undercoat is a comfortable aterial, soft and very warm.
It may well compete with mohair and contrary to popular belief, it does not smell nasty.
Long ago, the Eskimos were spinning the dog's undercoats to keep the cold out.
In northern Russia, women knitted wollen socks and stockings using DOG'S WOOL to prevent rheumatism.
So why not try it! You will wear a unique object, since your dog is unique.
